If you would like your external collaborator to have an account on Neon or Argon, you must first obtain a guest HawkID for that person, and then your collaborator must request and obtain an HPC cluster account. You can then request additional configuration so that you and your collaborator can share data using Globus GridFTP.

Info

Please do not invite your collaborator to request a HawkID if they are a former employee or student of the University of Iowa. Their HawkID will be re-activated as part of the account setup process.

Step 1: Invite your collaborator to create a HawkID

Visit the HawkID request form: https://iam.uiowa.edu/accounts

After your collaborator has a HawkID, they should request an HPC account on Neon or Argon using the standard process:  https://hpcresearch.its.uiowa.edu/our-services/usercomputing-services/new-user-informationargon-high-performance-computing-hpc

Please remind your collaborator that they must list you in the sponsor field in the new user request form.

Step 3 (optional): Sharing data with Globus

Please email us at hpcresearch-sysadmins@iowacomputing@uiowa.uiowa.edu to configure Globus access for you and your collaborator and to specify which location/data you would like to share. Research Services staff will help you to determine if a Data Use Agreement is necessary.
