If you would like your external collaborator to have an account on Neon or Argon, you must first obtain a guest HawkID for that person, and then your collaborator must request and obtain an HPC cluster account. You can then request additional configuration so that you and your collaborator can share data using Globus GridFTP.
Step 1: Invite your collaborator to create a HawkID
Visit the HawkID request form: https://iam.uiowa.edu/accounts
At this screen, choose to send a HawkID Invitation:
At this screen, enter the email address and an optional message, then click the Invitation Options button:
In the Invitation Options, enter your email address in the Email Notifications field so that you will receive an email when your collaborator completes HawkID setup:
Then click Send. Your collaborator will receive an email detailing how to obtain their HawkID.
Step 2: HPC account for your collaborator
After your collaborator has a HawkID, they should request an HPC account on Neon or Argon using the standard process: https://hpc.uiowa.edu/user-services/new-user-information
Please remind your collaborator that they must list you in the sponsor field in the new user request form.
Step 3 (optional): Sharing data with Globus
Please email us at research-computing@uiowa.edu to configure Globus access for you and your collaborator and to specify which location/data you would like to share.
