Data Cleaning Notes for Bulk Import

• Separate name fields in the first name and last name columns.
• Put email in correct column based on type.
• Companies:
  • Use list of companies that exist in SF to add ID numbers, which are necessary to match information in Salesforce. (Company report: https://tippie.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/Report/00O3t000007e0krEAA/view?queryScope=userFolders)
  • Match company ID to company listed in speaker spreadsheet using XLOOKUP function in Excel.
  • Mark companies that do not exist in SF so that admins can create the companies.  Admins will provide another list so that once the new companies are created, you can match up the new companies again with XLOOKUP.
• Add Host's BGI number and the Speaker's BGI number.
• Go through cells to make sure that formatting is correct and that information in cells matches the column header.
• Standardize course numbers (ex: MKTG 5000 section 0001 change to MKTG:5000:0001) - section is not necessary, so don't worry if it's not listed.
• Clean up topic cell - if there are multiple guests listed in the topic field, make new rows and carry over as much information as you can from the topic field (it's okay if there isn't much extra information - do the best you can with the information you have)
• Add Academic Year (ex: 2021-22).
• Start Date is mm/dd/yyyy format.
