This documentation covers the campus shared HPC cluster system, Argon, provided by ITS-RS (Information Technology Services – Research Services). At the present time, Argon is the only system provided. There have been more systems in the past, and may be more systems in the future. Argon is a heterogeneous system in many ways.
- It has a mix of systems with and without GPU accelerators
- There are several generations of CPU architecture
- There are several generations of GPU architecture
New hardware types will be added to Argon as time goes on, thus more heterogeneity. This documentation covers aspects of the system and how to interact with it. If there are any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us at research-computing@uiowa.edu.
