Duplicate Records
Duplicate Contacts
- When there is a duplicate contact or account, this message will appear at the top of the page:
- If you see this, no need need to notify an admin, as it is already being monitored on a duplicate report which admins check daily
- If you don't see the 'View Duplicates' link and you are 100% sure it is a duplicate contact, tag an admin in chatter with a link to the duplicate record page and the admins will take care of merging the contacts
Duplicate Business Organization Accounts
- When creating a business organization account, be sure to check that an existing company doesn't already exist
- Shared report with full list of Business Organizations in Salesforce: https://tippie.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/Report/00O3t000007e0krEAA/view?queryScope=userFolders.
- If you find a duplicate business, tag an admin in chatter with a link to the dupe record page. The admins will take care of merging the accounts and moving any related records
Duplicate Affiliation Records
- Users can't delete affiliation records. Please check to make sure the affiliation doesn't already exist
- If you create a duplicate affiliation record, tag an admin in chatter and the admin will delete the duplicate affiliation
