General

 1. I'm having trouble entering a record. Who do I contact?

Refer to the matrix on the Tippie Action Portal (TAP) Information page to find your contact person for your employee type.

 2. I edited my record and it won't let me save. Why?

Historical data was loaded from APR, and the record may have missing information.  If you are making an edit, there may be additional fields you're required to fill out in order to make the data complete. Review the record to see if any additional fields are required.

 3. Why can't I change the organization and type fields on my record?

In order to control data quality, these fields aren't editable. If you need to update these fields, delete the original record and create a new one with the correct information. (Exceptions: In progress publications have buttons called 'Edit Working Paper' and 'Change Journal or Conference' that allow an update of the journal or conference.)

 4. I only see 30 records in the list, but I know there are more. How can I see them all?

Click the list header (next to the Iowa icon) to open a page with the full list.  Watch the General Navigation video to learn more.

 5. I am a new Tippie faculty member. What prior information do I enter?

Enter prior publications and presentations. Don't enter service to prior institutions. Professional awards, memberships, and licenses/certifications are optional.


Publications

 1. My publishing name is different than my legal name. How do I update this?

Contact biz-sfauto@uiowa.edu to update your publishing name.

 2. Authors aren't listed in the right order on my publication record. How do I fix this?

Contact biz-sfauto@uiowa.edu and the Salesforce team can help you.

 3. What is a Tippie Author?

Someone who is a current Tippie faculty member. It does not include emeritus or visiting faculty or PhD students. This data is used for AASCB reporting.

 4. What is a Non-Tippie Iowa Co-Author?

Someone who is not in Tippie and who is a University of Iowa faculty member in another college.  This data is used for Provost reporting.

 My paper was not accepted. How do I reflect this in TAP?

If you plan to submit to a different journal, change the status to In Preparation/Not Submitted. If you don't plan to submit, delete the record as we do not track rejected papers.


Tippie Web Directory & Profiles

 1. Who do I contact to update my profile picture?

Contact the Tippie HR team to update your picture in the directory.

 2. Why are edits I made in TAP not showing on my Tippie profile page?

The directory does not update immediately; Changes are pushed to the directory each night. Make sure the Web Profile Status for the record is Feature or Show. The Formatted Text field shows a preview of the text that will display on your directory page.

 3. My campus address or phone is not correct. How can I fix it?

Campus address and phone information is imported from the HR system. To change this information, update it in Employee Self Service.

 4. My working title is not correct. How can I correct it?

Working titles are imported from the HR system. If your title does not appear correctly, contact the Tippie HR team.

 5. I would like to display my name differently on the web profile. How do I change this?

Contact biz-sfauto@uiowa.edu to change your display name.
