I-Star is the authoritative source for any alumni-related information and data related to individual contacts.
degrees and certificates
non-credit program participation (send to UICA after each program is complete to add JPEC involvement)
student org involvement, such as Enactus, Student Ambassadors, Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society
volunteer activities, such as mentors and judges
advisory council members
individual event attendance
donors and gifts
use to pull data for targeted communications, such as mailings and emails, since I-Star owns opt-ins/outs - request data at least 2 weeks in advance
I-Star process for yearly alumni review to be completed May to August: Data export -> LinkedIn review and update -> Data cleaning and identifying records with captured changes -> Data import into I-Star
Tippie Salesforce
This system is used to track operations and departmental activities beyond alumni data. It is company focused.
experiential learning (Venture Mentoring Service, Business Consulting, Venture School, Startup Incubator, Pro Prep, NSF, IIB?)
competitions (Innovation Challenge, Startup Games, IdeaStorm, Statewide Pappajohn Student Competition, Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Venture, Pitch Competitions, Business Model Canvas)
non-credit programs that track outcomes and feedback (records that wouldn’t conflict with alumni data) Ex. data while managing the program and enrollments
