List Views

List Views

Click the yellow image below to watch a video on List Views.

  • When you click on certain tabs at the top of the page (Contacts, Accounts, Affiliations, Campaigns, Applications, and others), you will land on what is called a List View
    • A list view is a filtered list of records
      • To see the filters being used on the list view, first click on the list view and then click the funnel to show the filters

  • The example above is showing that I first clicked on the Accounts Tab.  Then I clicked the dropdown next to Business Organizations to search through all of the list views under the account object, and picked the Business Organizations list view
  • I clicked on the funnel on the right side of the page to view the filters being used - in this case, it is filtered by All Accounts and Account Record Type = Business Organization
    • Users can't edit filters on shared list views - if you would like to change a filter on a shared list view, submit a new AAA change request in Salesforce
    • Admins can help you navigate filters and learn more about them when you have questions

Change Display of List View

  • There are a few different ways to display a list view:
    • Table: listed out like an excel sheet with rows and columns
    • Kanban: displays record based on a summary grouping that you can choose
    • Split: Hybrid of list and kanban views

Update Pinned (Default) List View

  • The list view will default to whatever is pinned
  • To change the default list view:
    • Click on the dropdown and you will see all of the shared list views
    • Click onto the list view you want and click the pin to make it stick
  • You can create list views that are shared or private
    • No one else but you can see a private list view
    • If you'd like to create a new shared list view, submit a new AAA change request and the admins can help walk you through that process

Limitations of List Views

  • List views can't be exported or printed, reports can be exported
